In a nutshell : Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, V For Vendetta tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey (NATALIE PORTMAN) who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked man (HUGO WEAVING) known only as ā€œV.ā€ Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V ignites a revolution when he urges his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression. As Evey uncovers the truth about Vā€™s mysterious background, she also discovers the truth about herself ā€“ and emerges as his unlikely ally in the culmination of his plan to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with cruelty and corruption.

With Evey( Natalie Portman) narrating the storyline, it seems kind of easy to understand. If there were no narration, I am sure that not anyone can catch the ingridients of the movie. This film revolves around the political situation and corrupted England somewhere in the near future. How politicians can disrupt the human mind and about how human can, could and would react dalam situasi yang berbeza. How V would go and kill each of his victim, pastu menggelabah monyet si Chancellor tu. Baru penangan satu orang, dah panas bontot dia dibuatnya...

Natalie Portman played her characted well. As a confused girl, in search of a surreal identity, who ends up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Dia ni rupa-rupanya anak yatim piatu di mana mak bapak dia pun freedom fighter jugak. Mak dia kena bunuh right in front of her eyes. So, trauma lah dia sepanjang hayat. She even went through the same experience masa boss dia kena bunuh lepas memperbodohkan si Chancellor yang hanya tau muncul dalam skrin plasma besar gedabak tu ajer.

Hugo Weaving, gua sebenarnya teringin sangat nak tengok dia bukak topeng tu. Darn! Tak dapat pula. Even after he died and was put in the train, tak bukak-bukak jugak!! Teringin aku nak tengok macam mana hodohnya rupa dia lepas kena first degree burn tu. But nonetheless, he played V very well. Misteri dan gelapnya character V ni.

As for the rest of the character, aku rasa everyone dah played their part quite well. Creedy, Finch, Sutler, Delia etc..

All in all, I would give this movie ***1/2 / *****.

My say : I took leave just to go and watch this movie with Mr Iron Board, hahahah!!! Nahh.. not really... Went to finish some errands first before I went and watch this movie. Anyway, my expectations was that this is an action movie. Well, considering the tittle. Vendetta! Vengeance! Least I expected that this movie was more phylosophical that it looks.

A lot of metaphores are used and slotted in this movie that we have to interprete it dalam-dalam sebelum we can understand it. Contohnya macam satu scene tu, big boss si Evey ni tunjuk his secret room yang penuh dengan barang - barang masa dia jadi loyal followers of the cult. Ada pulak satu Al - Quran Abad ke 14 yang cantik terletak kat dalam glass cube. Evey siap tanya boss dia, "Are you a Muslim.?" he replied "No. But that does not mean that i cannot enjoy the beautiful words in it". Bagi aku lah, this shows yang all religion is fair.

Gua tak anggap movie ni ringan but I feel that we have to think alot. To understand and to absorb what this movie is trying to say. Tak ada satu scene pun dalam movie ni yang kritik islam. DIa cuma directkan kepada pengertian yang manusia ni boleh berubah dan sanggup berubah untuk apa apa saja. They are willing to do anything just for the sake of politik. Haram jadah punya politicians (ooppsss!! Am I allowed to say that??)

Yang paling buat aku kecewa, Natalie Portman pi cantas rambut dia just for the sake of the movie. Aduh!!! Kesiannya.... Awek gua cun-cun macam tu!!! Tapi bagi gua, it is worthwhile considering pengorbanan dia dalam movie ni. Heard that kat North America, movie ni collected about USD 100 m in a week!!! Power.. Bila lah agaknya kita nak sampai macam tu kan?

Delia Surridge: Are you going to kill me now?

V: I killed you ten minutes ago while you were sleeping.

Delia Surridge: Will it be painful?

V: No.

Delia Surridge: Thank you. Is it meaningless to apologize?

V: Never.

Delia Surridge: I'm so sorry.
