Eat Healthy, Live Healthy

One of my close friend, Fazri who was admitted to Hospital Tawakal Tuesday last week due to hypertension dah pun di-discharged kan last Monday. He was also suspected dengan heart problem. Ikut cerita wife dia, dia macam dah nak pitam the day before he was admitted and tulang belikat dia pulak dah sakit. So, disebabkan dia dah tak tahan, his wife took him to the hospital and immediately after that, he was admitted.

Yang membuatkan aku terkejut tu, sebab as far as I am concern, mamat ni sikit lah punya sihat. Main ping-pong tiap-tiap petang, he eats balance food (I think), he plays football and futsal. The only thing is that, he smokes a lot. Yep, dia memang avid smoker. Dan tu jugak yang aku risaukan tu, aku pun merokok kuat jugak. Ada lah dalam a box of 20 tu. Well, I consider that banyak lah kot.

Okay, ni aku nak bagi sikit biology lesson dekat korang. Korang tau tak, for a normal men, tekanan darah yang normal adalah Diastolic tak melebihi 87 (Diastolic < 87) and Systolic tak melebihi 137 (Systolic < 137). Dari apa yang dia cakap pada aku, Systolic dia dah melebihi 200. I told him! Shit! Serius ke beb!

Anyway, mula-mula tu, dia kena buat test ECG. Lepas tu, he underwent angiogram test at Ampang Puteri to see whether he has some heart problem. He also went for an endoscopic test after that. Tapi alhamdulillah, masa aku gi lawat dia kat Ampang Puteri tu, he is not in any kind of danger of heart diseases. Yelah, risau jugak aku sebab before this, arwah bapak dia memang kena stroke sebelum ni pun. So, penyakit macam ni, kalau dah ada dalam family, chances that one of the child kena pun besar jugak.

This is surely good news. Alhamdulillah! Tapi yang bestnya, MC dia dah diextendkan seminggu lagi and he has to come back to the hospital untuk follow-up. Lama tu beb! Lepas follow-up to, sah sah la MC dia akan diextendkan lagi dalam 3, 4 hari. Heheh

Aku pun pelik macam mana dia boleh didiagnosed kan dengan penyakit macam tu. Darah tinggi? Takkan dia makan lembu sampai seekor kot? Sampaikan tekanan darah dia boleh naik tinggi macam tu sekali? Is it because of the peer pressure of work? Or is it because of external factors? I mean, memang kerja dia berlambak pun. Mula-mula tu, arwah bapak dia meninggal pada 31 Disember 2006, pada 11.30 pagi Hari Raya Korban. Tambahan pulak last Thursday, masa dia tengah dok main futsal kat Seksyen 14 PJ, his wife met an accident while she was driving his car going back home.

Not to insinuate, tapi kita tak tau lah kan? Selain dari kesihatan, kadang-kadang benda macam ni pun boleh mempengaruhi jugak kan? Depan kita dia boleh lah hoo hoo haa haa, tapi deep inside, we don't know what is he thinking right?

Yang bestnya tu, dalam sakit-sakit dia tu, boleh lagi dok mengurat nurse-nurse kat Tawakal tu. According to him, misi-misi kat Tawakal tu semuanya muda-muda dan comel-comel belaka.

Apa-apa pun, risau jugak aku! Aku ni pun boleh diconsiderkan heavy smoker jugak. Makan pun jenis yang bantai semua yang ada and I rarely work out. Lepas ni, kenalah berjaga-jaga and amalkan cara hidup seimbang. Blah!

Coming Soon

Last year left us with lots of great movies macam Pirates of the Carribean, Cinta (Nazim Masnawi, sorry bro!), Casino Royale, X-Men 3 : The Last Stand, The Departed and a lot more. Selain dari tu, ada jugak not so good and great movies macam Da Vinci Code, Little Man, Diva Popular & Nana Tanjung. We are nonetheless, left with those movies which have some good and bad elements like Cicakman, Superman, Poseidon. Just to say a few name because I’ve forgotten how many movies, VCD and DVD that I’ve watched.

I am not good at telling you guys the best 10 movies in 2006 because I don’t set the benchmark on how good or how bad the movies are. All these while, rate aku tu pun, based on selera aku sendiri aje. So, mungkin selera aku dengan selera orang lain berbeza. I might say that the movie is good but to someone else, it might be different. So, I leave your judgement at your hand.

However, this tahun ni, harap-harap more good movies yang will hit our shores and moga poket kita akan lebih terisi so that kita boleh kasi untung sama itu produser pelem, pemilik konsesi panggung dan kawasan-kawasan yang sewaktu dengannya.

So, here are some small preview of what’s coming this year. This list is based on the movie yang aku rasa sesuai dengan seleraku dan ada jugak yang aku pasti akan tengok. This list is not complete yet and there’ll be additions done to it.

SUPERHEROES

Spiderman 3

Spidey returns to the silver screen with more villains at hands. Green Lantern returns with Harry Osborn continuing his father’s legacy to take vengeance on Spiderman. Besides that, he will go head-to-head with Sandman, a villain which can turn his body into sand. The best would be a fight between Spiderman and Venom. Venom, as we all know, is an alien entity which has all of Spidey's power and more!). Peter Parker is also a victim of a love trap where he had to choose between Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy. Sam Raimi is back to direct this third installation of Spiderman. This film is said to be the most expensive ever made (even surpassing Titanic and King Kong). I am betting that this movie will rule supreme at the box office.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer is a space faring being who travels throughout the galaxy on a special surfboard in search of suitable worlds for Galactus to devour. One more thing, there's gonna be more of Jessica Alba's hotness. Hopefully this sequel will have more of her undressing. To add things up, there's gonna be a one-to-one fight against Human Torch and Silver Surfer. Woohoo!!!. Oh yeah, Dr Doom will also be making a comeback in the movie.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle

After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters goes mad after he was wrongfully fired, and begins amassing an army of ancient monsters. Realizing his plan is succeeding, he is no longer satisfied with vengeance against his ex-employer but now has thirst for world domination.

Not really The Departed

Mark Wahlberg has been talking to MTV News (http://www.mtv.com/) and reveals that much like "Infernal Affairs" had a prequel and sequel, so might "The Departed," with Martin Scorsese already supposedly planning one or more films.

"We may do another one, because it's based on a Hong Kong film ['Infernal Affairs'], and there is a trilogy. So we may do a sequel with a new cast, and a prequel and bring back the rest of the guys," the actor tells the site.

Now, without spoiling the movie, there would most likely have to be a completely different cast for the sequel part of it. Wahlberg reveals that Scorsese has been talking to his old friend Robert De Niro (who was going to play the role Martin Sheen played in "The Departed" but couldn't do it due to scheduling conflicts with "The Good Shepard").

It's hard to say whether there's any concrete plans for this, as Scorsese has never done a sequel to any of his movies and a "Departed 2" and "3" in our minds would just be a cheap way to get another buck. Still, stay tuned for more information if it becomes available.

Pathfinder (2006)

Cast : Karl Urban, Russell Means, Moon Bloodgood, Ralf Moeller

Director : Marcus Nispel

Synopsis :

Two Worlds, One War. The Ultimate Battle Begins

A young Viking boy abandoned by his people during an early raid on the shores of North America, nearly 500 years before the arrival of Columbus. A tribe of American Indians that his kinsmen attempted to destroy adopts the poor, frightened child. At 25, the blond tribesman known as Ghost (Karl Urban) must intervene to protect his people when Viking warriors return to commit barbarous attacks that leave nothing but death and destruction in their wake. The Vikings ride through a shallow creek and are next seen massacring the inhabitants of Ghost's (Karl Urban) village.

At the same time, the tribe leader, known, as the Pathfinder must select a new leader for the tribe. The tribe deserted Ghost, being an outsider, even though he was the right man to replace the Pathfinder. Ghost was also in love with the Pathfinder's daughter.

After seeing his village people died and the leader killed by the Vikings, Ghost decided to take revenge on the death of his "mother". Before the Vikings could kill another tribe, Ghost takes matter in his own hands.

Is Ghost chosen as the Pathfinder? Will he be able to save the tribe from being a victim of the Viking? How will Ghost's love end up? Tengok sendiri itu movie haa!

Aku kata:

The reason why I watched the movie was because I had no other choice. I was standing outside GSC Midvalley one Thursday evening thinking of what to watch. Then, I stumbled upon one poster. I think the poster looks cool. So, what the heck! Aku pun beli lah tiket ni. So, aku masuk dalam panggung without knowing what to expect out of it.

Actually I don't really know how to review the movie. I read somewhere that this was a re-make from a 1987 Oscar nominated Norwegian film. Memandangkan aku tak pernah tengok versi 1987, so, aku tak boleh nak buat comparison between both movie.

Aku suka dengan movie ni sebab action scenenya yang nampak begitu gah. The fight between Ghost, the Red Indian and the Viking looked great. It is a known fact that Vikings are known to be a conquerer tribe that is vicious and brute. Eventhough the fighting scene tu takde lah macam The Lord of the Ring, tapi it was just as great. Another thing that I like about the movie was the costumes. The Viking's costume nampak majestic and make-up diorang yang nampak cukup hodoh dan zalim tu.

It was mentioned that no animal was harmed during the production of the film. Filem ni banyak menggunakan extensive green screen technology to make it real. Movie ni difilemkan kat North America eventhough it depict the story of the Red Indian and The Viking's first step foot there. This was 500 years before Columbus even came. What tickles me off is the accent used by the Red Indian. Their English was perfect. In fact, it was too perfect to be used by any Red Indian.

As for the acting, I can't really say much. Sebab bagi aku, kekuatan filem ni pada action scenenya sahaja. Ini filem yang kurang dialog yang memberangsangkan dan takde lakonan yang betul-betul hebat dari semua pelakonnya. Cuma satu perkara yang aku perasan pasal hero and heroine Pathfinder. Aku tak nampak on-screen chemistry between the hero and heroine. Both of them didn't seem to have that thing going on and it was pretty dull.

All in all, kalau korang peminat epic filem, this is a good movie yang slow tapi a good action scene.

Aku kasi : ** ½ / *****

The Da Vince Code (2006)

Cast : Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Sir Ian Mckellen, Paul Bettany, Alfred Molina, Jean Reno

Director : Ron Howard

Synopsis :

Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a Harvard symbologist in Paris for a lecture when Inspector Fache (Jean Reno) informs him of the murder of museum curator Jacques Sauniere (Jean-Pierre Marielle). This poor man has been shot and will die late at night inside the Louvre; his wounds, although mortal, fortunately leave him time enough to conceal a safe deposit key, strip himself, cover his body with symbols written in his own blood, arrange his body in a pose and within a design by Da Vinci, and write out, also in blood, an encrypted message, a scrambled numerical sequence and a footnote to Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou), the pretty French policewoman whom he raised after the death of her parents. Most people are content with a dying word or two; Jacques leaves us with a film treatment.

Sophie warns Robert he is in danger from Fache, and they elude capture in the Louvre and set off on a quest that leads them to the vault of a private bank, to the French villa of Sir Leigh Teabing (Ian McKellen), to the Temple Church in London, to an isolated Templar church in the British countryside, to a hidden crypt and then back to the Louvre again. The police, both French and British, are one step behind them all of this time, but Sophie and Robert are facile, inventive and daring. Also, perhaps, they have God on their side.

This series of chases, discoveries and escapes is intercept with another story, involving an albino named Silas (Paul Bettany), who works under the command of the Teacher through a middleman called Bishop Aringarosa (Alfred Molina). Silas, a mysterious figure at the center of a conspiracy to conceal the location of the Holy Grail, what it really is, and what that implies. The conspiracy involves members of Opus Dei, a society of

If you've read the novels, then you know what happens next but if not, then I would suggest you get the DVD and watch the movie.

Aku Kata :

Okay! It took me a bloody long time to review the movie because I just hated it. Having to read the novel and watching the movie (I re-read the book right before the movie premiers), I think that the mood was spoilt at how bad the movie was. The plot of the book memang intriquing tapi aku teramat lah kecewa dengan hasil kerja tangan Ron Howard untuk filem ni.

All right, any movie that was adapted from a novel should strictly follow the book tapi aku dapat rasakan kejanggalan bila aku tonton filem ni. The first time I watched it, aku tengok tak habis pun sebab aku dah terlampau bosan. The second time, aku cuba juga habiskan tengok movie ni. Phew! What a ride!

Eventhough this film maintain its exotic location (exactly like the book, it still lack of some important thing macam startling revelation and desperate chase scene. Both the book and movie contain accusations against the Catholic Church and its order of Opus Dei, the Holy Grail, the descendants of Jesus, the Knights Templar, and the true story of Mary Magdalene. But hey, the book was fiction. Okay, the plot for both the book and movie are ridiculous tapi bukan ke kebanyakan movie made that way?

I know that Catholics hated the book and all the rubbish that Dan Brown created tormented them Again! It's a fiction! What do you expect? Lagi satu, how can someone say that Dan Brown's novel is preposterous and the movie is preposterously entertaining, when it's not? Aku tak tau lah bagi korang yang pernah tengok movie ni, macam mana pendapat kau orang. Tapi ini pendapat aku.

Mungkin expectation aku untuk tengok Robert Langdon in the silver screen was high but who can blame me? What I expected the movie is going to be was quite anti-climaxed to what was in the book.

Mungkin it wasn't that bad after all kot. I only like the movie because of Silas (Paul Bettany) and Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou). They both did an excellent job for the character that they are being paid for.

All I can say, kalau korang belum lagi baca buku tu, korang akan dapat that it's a good movie. Tapi, kalau korang pernah baca buku tu and still belum tengok buku tu. Brace yourself to be disappointed.

Malam yang TERLALU ISTIMEWA

I am not going to comment long about Anugerah Juara Lagu 22 held last night. I mean, the results are already out and Anugerah Juara Lagu pun dah diketahui siapa pemenang setiap kategori dan Juara keseluruhannya. Aku cuma nak recap balik the show and bagi little comment sahaja.

Opening Show

Pembukaan yang fresh from Man Kidal, Francisca Peter and Quest. Quest who? No idea on who these clowns are but it was a good combination with a fresh arrangement for a very old song. Seriously! What a lift-off for a start. The energy boosted bila Man Kidal did what he does best. Aku suka dengan persembahan pembukaan Anugerah Juara Lagu this year compared to last year when they did an urban hip-hop mix.

Set 1

Hantaran Hati (Bob/Aspalela Abdullah) – Nik Nizam / Rosminah Tahir

Juwita Citra Terindah (M Nasir) – M Nasir / M Nasir

Ku Seru (Misha Omar) – Ajai / Habsah Hassan & Shuhaimi Baba

Dalam set pertama persembahan, Hantaran Hati, Juwita Citra Terindah & Ku Seru was performed. Hantaran Hati was a good performance vocally by Bob and Aspalela Abdullah. Tak kisah lah kalau ada rombongan Cik Kiah yang ambil alih tugas Noraniza Idris sambil membawa dulang pahar kat atas pentas tu. I enjoyed their singing.

Juwita Citra Terindah was a little bit off for me. I am hoping that would do his magic on stage but not to my avail, it was just too simple. At times, aku dapat rasa yang the music and M Nasir's singing didn't really jelled M Nasir didn't present the song well enough dengan karisman dia sendiri. It was too relaxed. Walau bagaimanapun, aku enjoy persembahan dia sebab lagu tu sendiri.

Misha, despite singing the song well, her performance was pretty much lame. It was the same thing and the same move over and over again. Gaya yang sama juga untuk persembahan Pulangkan dan Bunga-Bunga Cinta. Sayang, the singing was excellent but the performance wasn't up to my expectation. Eventhough this song is nothing near to Pulangkan, but vocal Misha malam tadi cukup baik.

Set 2

Zapin Cinta SMS (Senario & Adibah Noor) – Anuar Dahlan / Anuar Dahlan

Diari Seorang Lelaki (Pretty Ugly) – Neves / Neves

Mungkir Bahagia (Hazami) – Rozita Mohd Ali / Hazami

One thing I felt like telling those Senario bunch is that " Korang dah out of date lah". Throw away those act and try to think of a new one. Thanks to Adibah Noor who saved the show with her powerful voice. Kalau nak harapkan those clown, I don't think that song will be that good. Nasib baik lah Adibah Noor is adorable. Walaupun berbadan besar, tapi she's just so cute dengan character tu. One of my least fave of the night, yang menarik tentang lagu ni is because it's funny. Tapi, ada satu kesamaan dengan lagu dari Senario sebelum ni jugak. I forgot the song but it is really similar.

I like the song, I like Pretty Ugly but I hate the performance. Well, one, what's with the suit? You don't sing that kind of song with that kind of attire. Tak kena lah beb! Takde attitude langsung. Ataupun memang TV3 dah tetapkan attire macam tu? Two, they arrange the song so that it sounds a little jazzy with the piano. Melarikan mood lagu tu. One more thing! For goodness sake, take the "T" slang out when you're singing dude!

Mungkir Bahagia was the best performance that night. Lagu yang sedemikian dipersembahkan dengan melodi dan lirik yang baik, memang kena dengan gaya Hazami. Walaupun dia menggunakan konsep membawa anak murid-anak muridnya yang similar to last year, it was still a good performance with a good song. Certainly one of my favourite song to win Anugerah Juara Lagu this year.

Set 3

Candak (Syura) – Suhaimi Mohd Zain / Lokman Ghani

Lagu Jiwa Lagu Cinta (Mawi & M Nasir) – M Nasir / Loloq

Terlalu Istimewa (Adibah Noor) – Azlan Abu Hassan / Adibah Noor

I mentioned Syura because she is the original singer yang digantikan oleh Siti Nordiana. Tak ada cacatnya lagu yang dipersembahkan Siti Nordiana ni. The reason is why it is so simple and straight forward. That's about it. Nothing special to talk about and nothing that bad to say too. Frankly, it's not a winning material for me but it was just okay. Same goes to Siti Nordiana's performance. It was just okay.

Okay, out of the 12, Lagu Jiwa Lagu Cinta was the worst performance that night. Yes, it was entertaining but it was just worse. Okay! I am saying this at the risk of being condemned by his fans but guys, not that I have anything against Mawi (which I really do!) and M Nasir is one hell of a guy, but the performance was just bad to the bone. Don't get me started on it but the wig was bad, those bad free-body move and gaya hilang akal Mawi. I didn't enjoy the performance. It was the performance, not the song. It made the song looked bad.

I like Adibah's performance but using kids as a tool for the performance was cliché enough. Maybe because this song was made for Nurul Huda (which was tortured till death, I think) yang membuatkan persembahan ni menggunakan kanak-kanak. Tapi apa-apa pun, aku enjoy dengan persembahan Adibah Noor and the song is a good piece too. Lagu yang cukup bermakna eventhough it contains a simple lyrics.

Set 4

Warkah Buat Laila(Zahib) – Ayob Ibrahim / Habsah Hassan

Tak Tercapai Akalmu (Elyana) – Aidit Alfian / Ad

Secebis Harapan (Nora) – Zulkifli Mamat / Noor

Zahid started off the the last set with a very commandable performance with Warkah Buat Laila. The feel was good, the singing was good and the song was good. What I like about the performance and the song was a fusion combination between the Indian instruments like talba dengan the eastern sound. It's very soothing to the ears and the lyric is very meaningful.

Aku tak tau korang perasan ke tak tapi aku rasa imej dan penampilan Elyana malam tadi ada banyak elemen gothic., Bila aku tengok kombinasi hitam dan merah tu, it reminds me of Amy Lee from Evanescense .Alah, I didn't know the real thing about it but kalau korang pernah jejakkan kaki ke Uptown, you'll see a lot of these

Nora ended the show with a slow piece. Sesuai dengan kesedihan mangsa-mangsa banjir kat selatan tanah air tu. The strength of the song really rely on Nora's vocal. Lagu tu lagu slow yang mendayu-dayu. Other than that, aku rasa lagu ni biasa aje.

Persembahan Bonus

Persembahan bonus was pretty awkward, if you ask me.Instead of doing a mix of song, why not do a medley on all the winners of the previous Anugerah Juara Lagu? Aku rasa ia akan jadi lebih menarik when all the guest singers sings a medley of the previous winners. It will be more meaningfull considering that Juara Lagu is already 22 years old. Apa-apa pun, persembahan terbaik would go to Faizal OIAM yang membawa lagu Raikan Cinta dengan style rocknya sendiri.

Joe Flizzow and Ima (Bintang Cari Bintang) was okay eventhough goyang Ima tu dah sebijik dengan mentornya, Si Penggelek Gerudi tu. Joe Flizzow, Yassin, Akbar & Daly singing Alhamdulillah? Isn't that song old? Why choose that song? Hmm.. entah lah! Ella? Well, her attempt to rock the traditional song was… Hmm. I'm lost with words. Ulek Mayang tu lagu yang sangat sacred. Singing it in a rock tune, was funny. Nice but funny. Bakal Datin Noraniza Idris was slightly off with her collaboration with V.E. I just don't get it! I don't really like the combination. Aku tak faham apa lagu tu sebenarnya. Period!

Dayang, despite that damn sexy appealing steals the show with her very revealing dress, menyakitkan telinga aku bila dia menghancurkan lagu tu dengan style dia sendiri. Yes, she has her own style, but can't she just stick to the old version? What? Just because the theme was fusion, she has to change the song is it? If I was Datik Orked Abdullah, I would surely be upset over that. Mata aku lebih melekat pada keseksian Dayang compared to her performance

Persembahan Terbaik – Hazami & Mungkir Bahagia.

Hey, even my dad enjoyed Hazami's performance. Walaupun dia tu sedikit anti-Hazami, tapi the first thing that came from his mouth was " Boleh menang persembahan terbaik ni". Haaa! Itu cakap orang yang baru balik dari surau tu! Anyway, the mime act by hazami's students really help a lot.Aku paling suka the closing of the song when the students gathered around him.

Vokal Terbaik - Adibah Noor.

My bid to win the category after watching all the performance was either Hazami, Adibah Noor, Misha or Nora. And Adibah's victory was nothing than proving that she is something that should be taken seriously. I am sure that the audience was stung by her voice last night.

Kategori Etnik Kreatif & Irama Malaysia - Warkah Buat Laila

Well, it was a deserved victory for Warkah Buat Laila after winning at Anugerah Industri Muzik and Festival Filem Malaysia. Aku meamng dah agak yang Warkah Buat Laila yang akan merangkul kategori Etnik Kreatif & Irama Malaysia. Saingan terdekat pun mungkin datang dari Bob & Aspalela Abdullah dengan hantaran hati. The rest 2, aku rasa sekadar pelengkap korum aje.

Kategori Pop Rock - Juwita Citra Terindah

This is of no shock for me because M Nasir has quite a good record in his previous participation in Juara Lagu. Not unless it was judged by SMS. Then, without a shadow of a doubt LJLC will win.

Kategori Balada - Terlalu Istimewa

My top choice would be Mungkir Bahagia or Terlalu Istimewa. Dua-dua lagu boleh diterima gegendang telinga aku ni. Komen lain, sama macam kat bawah ni.

Anugerah Juara Lagu : Terlalu Istimewa (Azlan Abu Hassan / Adibah Noor)

At last, Adibah Noor got what just she deserved. Walaupun I am aiming for M Nasir to win, tapi kalah pada tangan Adibah Noor wasn't that bad Malam tu memang malam yang TERLALU ISTIMEWA buat Adibah Noor. Segala perit jerih dan penat lelah Adibah Noor selama 15 tahun didalam industry finally paid off. Mesti Adibah cakap dalam hati "Dapat jugak aku modal balik buat album guna duit sendiri". Well, swapping about RM 47,000 was really nothing compared to the satisfaction on Adibah's face when she grabbed the award. Aku rasa it was a sweet victory for Adibah Noor that night.

Sememangnya pemenang Anugerah Juara Lagu selalu datang dari kategori kategori Balada. Pop-Rock tu jarang-jarang jugak. Jarang sangat datang dari kategori Etnik Kreatif & Irama Malaysia (Well, not after Siti Nurhaliza left Anugerah Juara Lagu). Keputusan tahun ni tak ada lah menimbulkan kontroversi sangat kalau nak dicomparekan dengan tahun-tahun sudah. Well, that's what I hope!

That's all. I am just a fan and not a highly commendable critic.

American Pie: The Naked Mile (2006)

Cast : John White, Maria Ricossa, Steve Talley, Jake Siegel, Joe Bostick, Ross Thomas, Christopher McDonald,

Director : Joe Nussbaum

Synopsis :

Eric Stifler is a member of the Stifler family who is well known for their legacy of "wilderness".When Eric Stifler realizes that he is the only Stifler family member who is going to graduate from high school as a virgin, he decided to take matter at his own hands. All that he needs to do was to live up to the legacy of the Stifler's family.

Eric has a girlfriend who is also a virgin and having been resisting to make love with him since they got to know each other (kind of pathetic, if you ask me). Eric's 2 buddy have been bugging him about this and Eric is a little bit intimidated knowing that he is going to fail the legacy.

After taking some advice from Jim's father (Jim was one of the cast in the previous American Pie), Eric is ready to take his chances at the annual race at one of his friend's college. The Naked Mile is well known as being the most wild and wackiest weekend. It is where hundreds of students will run naked in one of the craziest college tradition ever.

Having the free-pass weekend given by his girlfriend, he decided that he's gonna join the race and have the best weekend of his life. And the adventure begins! (Aggh!! I don't know what else to say!)

Aku kata :

I always label American Pie as a cult movie. Alternative & offbeat and not the religious group. I would say from all the four American Pie series, this is the worse compared to the 3. I still think that American Pie 3: American Wedding was the best. If I rate this based on the explicitly (in a ruder and nuder way), then this movie will reign no 1.There's no doubt about that. But being a fan of the American Pie, I am a little bit disappointed.

In fact, The Naked Mile is not as funny and entertaining as the rest. I even thought that I was watching my 100th porn movie. Woohoo!! The only thing that is attractive in this movie is the babe. They are hot and sizzling. But sorry! I am not going to show any nude pic scene from the movie because it will go against my principle.

I love nudity (I am a pervert! What do you expect?). But this blog isn't something that I put any nude pics on. Sorry, if you wanna see what I mean, get the DVD and witness it for yourself. As I said, the movie is just fine by me because I love it just for the nude and rude scene. But isn't not as good as the previous 3. As what Ironboard said to me ": Alah! Ni mesti B movie ni!". IB, gua memang setuju dengan lu beb!

Aku kasi : ** / *****

P/s : My rate is based on the 5 American Pie series. Not worthy for an American Pie fan but worthy enough for it's revealing scenes.

Night at the Museum (2006)

Cast: Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Carla Gugino, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Bill Cobbs, Jake Cherry, Ricky Gervais, Kim Raver, Patrick Gallagher, Rami Malek, Mizuo Peck, Steve Coogan, Owen Wilson
Director : Shawn Levy.
Synopsis:

Larry Daley is a down-and-out person. He dreams of being an inventor but turns out to be a very sore inventor when his inventions never really quite make it. Larry is divorced and he & his ex-wife are sharing a joint custody over their son, Nick. It made things worse for Larry as his son express disappointment over him not getting a decent job for a living. Too add things up, he has to move houses as he is not able to pay his rent.

He is in dire need of a job and tries his luck at a recruitment agency. Not being able to offer him any good job, he was offered a job at the Museum of Natural History. Thinking at it was a good job; he decided to try it out. Unfortunately, it was not as what he expected. He reluctantly accepts the job as a night watchman at the Museum of Natural History because he was left with no choice. The Museum itself has been depleting in the numbers of visitors.

Unbeknownst to him, the Museum had something special installed for him. Something that the previous 2 watchman; Cecil, Gus and Reginald have been keeping secret for a long time. Little did he know that things started to go bump in the night and the museum seems to be alive at night? Everything in the museum is alive at night and walks freely in the museum.

They are kept alive by the amulet of Ahkmenrah that cursed the museum when it was bought to the Museum in the 50's. A full size bone scturcture of T-Rex, Pre-historic humans, Columbus's statue, Atilla the Hun, a vile and vicious leader, miniature size cowboy and Roman conquerer, Afican wildlife and a lot more. Enough to keep Larry busy at night. His job was to ensure that all of them stay in the museum. The only ally that he has was a wax figure of Teddy Rosevelt that guided him throughout the night. (FYI, Teddy Rosevelt was the 28th President of the U.S. of A! Got this from the movie)

His colleague, Rebecca, who is pursuing her studies in History decided to write a paper on one of the display in the museum, Sakagawea who was responsible to help someone. What? I can't recall because American History isn't my thing. So, I forgot who did this babe helped out. Anyway, When Larry broke the news to her and told her she can meet Sakagawea in person, she got upset thinking that Larry is making fun of her.

Watch how a seemingly easy job turns out to be a wild ride when he finds that an ancient curse has caused the "inhabitants" of the museum to come to life. Did he manage to impress his son and show Rebecca that he is speaking the truth? You have to watch the movie yourself if you want to find out because I've gave too many spoilers.

Aku Kata :

I am a little bit biased when it comes to Robin William. He's one of my favorite actors of all time and whatever movies he is in, I'll say that he did a good job even though you do not agree with me. So, if you've watched the movie and tell me that Robin William was a flop as Teddy Rosevelt, it doesn't bother me at all. Hehehe…

Anyway, even though Ben Stiller is the main cast in the movie, but I don't think that he is that appealing. After went missing for almost 2 years from the silven screen, I don't think the impact he brought in this movie is that effective. Yes, Ben Stiller is still funny doing his stuff but I think that this movie's strength relies more on the supporting cast of the movie. Take Jedediah and Octavius for example, At some point Owen Wilson as Jedediah and Steve Coogan as Octavius nearly stole the show from Ben Stiller.

It's a fun movie to watch. The special effect from this movie was something that nice. Just nice and nothing that bogus. In fact, some of the scenes reminded me of Jumanji. Especially those mammoths, rhinos and animals from the African wildlife. However Jumani and Night at the Museum is in no way related to each other. Well, that is as far as I am concerned because Shawn Levy did not direct Jumanji. (Tell me if I am wrong!)

On another note, the movie it's not just fun, in fact it's educational. At least we'll learn a thing or two about anthropology, paleontology and American History. This movie serves as an educational trip for the young and makes a fun history lesson.

My last question, how many of us really go to the Museum?

Lemme be frank with you, I have NEVER BEEN to MUZIUM NEGARA in all my life. Sheesh! How pathethic of me!

Movie character's New Year resolution.

If you think that it is only us that have new year resolution, well think again. Even character in movies have their own resolutions. Here's some that I am able to gather

Storm: After The Last Stand, I seriously need to grow back my hair. Seriously! I look hideous with that short hair. I can't even summon the rain to come.

Neo: I need to change my look and style. Maybe I'll ask The Oracle for a good wardrobe stylist. Frankly speaking, I am getting kinda bored of black. Jeans and a polo tee would be nice for a change.

Aslam (The Chronicle of Narnia): I wanan get myself a lioness to fuck and have my own cub. I've had it with those kids. I wanna have my own kids now.

V (V for Vendetta): I need to change my make-up. Maybe get another make-up artiste. Which is better? Maybelline or Loreal?

Gollum: Get another ring to replace the one that I've lost. I am thinking of going to Habib Jewels or KM Oli Mohamed because they have great discounts there. Darn that Frodo for destroying the ring.

Darth Vader: I need to get myself cartons of breath-fresheners. This mask hasn't been change for over 20 years and my breath stinks.

Robert Langdon:

1) Change my hairstyle. My hair is getting longer and it will look bad for my Angel & Demon movie.

2) Change my Mickey Mouse to say, Rolex or Tag Heuer maybe. I am getting to old for this kind of brand.

Empress (Curse of the Golden Flower): I need to get a cup D bra. My boobs are too revealing.

Human Torch (Fantastic Four): I want to open my own food business. Maybe I'll name it Chill & Grill. In fact, I'll grill the food my own. That will make full use of my power.

Captain Jack Sparrow: I want cleaner teeth before I appear in At World's End. Even the villains or my co-stars have better teeth than me. Maybe I'll ask around for a good dentist. I am thinking of getting a porcelain venire.

Harry Potter: My puberty is chasing me and my biological clock is ticking. I hope that this year, I will be able to date Cho Chang and sleep with her. If not, I'll ask Hermoine Granger to cast a spell for me.

Jake Gyllenhal (Brokeback Mountain): After Heath Ledger died, I want to find myself a new gay partner and this time, it's no more a tent. I'll rent a motel.

Andy Sachs (The Devil Wears Prada): I've had it with Miranda Priestly. I decided to look for a job at Harpers Bazaar this year.

Big Momma: I hope this year they'll come out with spandex for people like me.

Orked: I've loved the young one and the older one. This year, will it be the father?

Jake Gyllenhal in The Day After Tomorrow: With all these ice, I hope I can open an Ais Kacang or ABC business right in the center of New York. Hmm… Central Park would be nice!

King Kong: I've fought T-Rex, humans, giant caterpillars, giant bugs and everything. You name it. This year is the time for me to relax. Get the hell out of Skull Island.

Dahlia Williams (Dark Water): This year, I am getting a new plumber for my apartment. The old once sucks like hell! Water has been spilling everywhere and it smells shit.

Spiderman: I've got my new black suit ready. The tailor did an excellent job with it. I'll show it to you guys later. I am making a come back this year.

Dragon, Tiger & Turbo (Dragon, Tiger, Gate): Last year, the critics said my hairdo was very bad. So, we've decided that this year, we are going to get a new haircut and hairstyle. Maybe we'll go to A Cut Above or Jantzen.

Nacho (Nacho Libre): This year, I want to change my mask. They said it looks like one of those WWE wrestlers. What's the name…? Hell, I forgot!

Superman: My friend Spidey got his costume change, why can't I have a new one? Maybe something in leather or fibreglass would be nice? This red underwear is getting too out of date.

Ghost (Pathfinder): This year, I'll find myself a name and register it at the Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara. This names scares babes away.

That kid in Sixth Sense (I seriously forgot his name): I had enough of dead people. I want to see beautiful girls with big boobs from now on.

Batman: Last year, I went to the Himalayas for a holiday. This year, I'll ask my travel agency to find a new place. I'm thinking of the North Pole but I don't know it bats can last long there.

P/s: will be updated later in case I think of it. Anyway, you guys have anything to add?

The Pursuit of Happyness (2007)

Cast : Will Smith, Thandie Newton, Jaden Smith, Brian Howe, James Karen, Kurt Fuller, Dan Castanella

Director : Gabriele Muccino

Synopsis : Set in the early 1980s, it’s a heart-warming story about a father, Chris Gardner who is struggling as a salesman for a little needed medical bone density scanners. He makes a living by selling those scanners with target to meet and at times, he can’t even sell one single scanner in a month. His wife Linda toiled in a double shift at a laundry to make sure that there is enough food on the table and to support the family. What Chris’s get is not enough to pay debts buy food and pay for their rent? Linda is getting tired of the way things are going and he decided to back of from the marriage and get a divorced.

In the face of this difficult life, Chris has the desperate inspiration to try for a stockbroker internship where one in twenty has a chance of a lucrative full time career. Even when his wife leaves him because of this choice, Chris clings to this dream with his son even when the odds become more daunting by the day. Together, father and son struggle through homelessness, jail time, tax seizure and the overall punishing despair in a quest that would make Gardner a respected millionaire.

Aku kata

HAPPINESS is spelt with H.A.P.P.Y.N.E.S.S. in The Pursuit of Happyness. Happyness in the movie is not derived from the feeling happy. Happyness is the word spelt outside of Christopher’s day-care center that, in the story, Chris Gardner had been telling the teacher for an umpteenth of times.

The main reason why I like the movie is because it is based on a true story. How true was the story compared to the real life situation, well, I can’t answer that. Only Chris Gardner can answer that question.

But it is a compelling drama about a man’s struggle for a better future for him and his son. The most effective aspect of the movie that catches my attention is how a father-son relationship. How Chris loved his son and protects him from hardships.

This is something else from Will Smith. No Mr Funny like in Bad Boys or strutting his biceps and triceps. This is plainly acting and personally, I think he pulled it off admirably. With the little bit of gray hair and moustache, he carries the character very well. Will Smith is nominated in the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for this role. What about his chances of winning? I wouldn’t know just yet.

Kudos to Jaden, whom I think played along his father very well. Eventhough Will Smith said that Jaden has to undergo the same audition process as any other child, I can see it coming that they need someone with a chemistry with the main lead to be Christopher. And Jaden wasn’t disappointing at all. He's inherited his parents' good looks and has impeccable comic timing, enlivening the gloomier stretches of the story.

I am not familiar with the work of Gabriel Muccino. When I browse the Internet, I don’t think I’ve watched any of the movies that was directed previously by this Italian director.

Anyway, thanks to Kenny, my pirate DVD dealer who have given me the chance to watch this movie that is only set to release in March, I think.

Babes of the week

[ This entry is not in anyway related to IronBoard's Babes of the week entry. Aku cuma baik punya cilok ide beliau sahaja. With the permission of IB, that is]

Kepada sesiapa yang tengok and follow CSI : Miami, korang pasti kenal dengan muka perempuan ni. In CSI, she act as Marisol Delko, kakak kepada Eric Delko. Sekarang ni pulak, she’s hooked to Horatio Caine and they are in a relationship. Elok lak tu, adik ipar jadi boss kepada abg ipar dia.

A little bit about herself.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on 18th June 1976. She attended the University of Texas. After college, she moved to Orlando, Florida and landed herself in independent films and commercials.

As for filmography, there’s nothing much I can dig about her besides her being Marisol Delko in CSI : Miami. She was in Las Vegas (2003) as a con artist. Well, itu aje yang aku ingat pun. Yang lain, macam lead in WB’s The Mountain (2004) and recently, she completed a romantic comedy Mr Fixit (2006).

She also played small parts in Smallville, Charmed, Law & Order and a few more production. Maybe she’ll be taking on bigger parts in the future.
And most important of all, she is a MAXIM girl. Woohoo!!!

Couch Potato's Favourite!

I am a couch potato. Yeap, if I am not doing anything else and just sitting at home doing nothing, I’ll turn on the TV, grab the remote control, chips and enjoy myself all day long in front of the TV.

Frankly speaking, kau tak berapa suka sangat reading at home. I’ll tend to be very sleepy and dozed off if I read at home. Unless it’s a newspaper. I love to read when traveling. Say like going to work. I am a public transport user and it gives me plenty of times to read. So, dari being unproductive of sleeping, lagi baik kalau aku jadi tak produktif sebab duduk terbongkang depan TV.

Anyway, here are the list of some of my current favourite TV shows.

1. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
Pelik?Takde ape yang nak dipelikkan. Aku memang suka tengok rancangan ni. Let me get their names right. Jai, Kyan, Thom, Carson and Ted. They are a group of 5 days who works their sweat on a straight guy. (No! it’s not like what you think it is!) They transform a style-deficient and culture-deprived straight man from drab to fab. From all, my least favourite is Carson. Eventhough he is the most funniest, tapi dia ni terlampau sissy sangat.

2. The Amazing Race Asia
For now, this is my most favourite TV show. Aku tak pernah miss tengok one episode of The Amazing Race Asia. Aku memang an avid follower of Amazing Race, and when they announced ARA, aku memang waiting with ancitipation. The 10 teams of 2 instead of the normal 12 teams of 2. 2 Malaysian teams made it to the top 10 and they are still in the race until now. They are Joe Jer & Zabrina and Andrew & Syeon. Aku memang hoping that both Joe Jer& Zabrina & Andrew & Syeon will make it to the top 3. At first, I though Zabrina is a Muslim tapi rupa-rupanya tidak. Aku mati-mati ingat dia islam. She’s same as as me and her full name is Zabrina Fernandez.

3. CSI : Crime Scene Investigation

I am a freak when it comes to CSI. Tak kira lah CSI yang mana sekali pun. But My favourite will be the original CSI with Gil Grissom and his team. Meanwhile, my favourite babes would be Marisol Delko, adik Eric Delko dalam CSI : Miami. Nanti aku akan citer lebih pasal dia (Cilok sikit idea IronBoard dengan Babes of the Weeknye!)

4. CSI : NY

5. CSI : Miami

6. Dunia Baru
Ni satu-satunya tv show Malaysia yang betul-betul buat aku glued on to the TV every Monday pada pukul 9.00 pm. Aku ni bukannya jenis layan sangat telenovela Samarinda ataupun slot Identiti ni. Well, ada gak cerita yang aku layan but kalau dah selalu sangat tengok hero tua tu, bosan lah beb! First of all, sebab cerita dia sempoi habis. Aku rasa sesiapa yang pernah tengok Dunia Baru mesti setuju dengan aku.

7. Oliver Twist

Ini bukannya novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens tu. Kalau korang ada follow channel 11 Astro, you'll know which show I am referring to. Yes, it's a cooking chow. Actually, aku tengok rancangan ni pun sebab I have no choice. Bapak aku sebenarnya penyebab kenapa Oliver Twist ni termasuk dalam senarai ni. Bapak aku ni, when it comes to Jamie Oliver, memang ada ruang istimewa di hatinya. Hahaha…

8. Macam-macam Aznil

Aznil is one brilliant and witty host. He’s been in the industry for a very long time and dia dan establish himself from a lame dangdut singer to the host of Pop Kuiz to the host of Akademi Fantasia. He also has his own talk show which is self-named and he’s made it big when he won the Asian Television Award for Best Talk Show. Eat that, Azwan!

9. The 8 TV Quickie
I don’t know whether this could be rated as a TV Show because its just a 15 minute show. Aku follow Quickie since Adam Charruter and Marion Caunter’s time for weekdays Quickie and Rina dn Phat Fabes for the weekend Quickie. My hats of for orang gila 8TV, Ahmad Izham Omar sebab he’s the genius behind the success of 8TV. Aku bagi dia gelaran The Mad Genius.

10. Buletin Utama

I am comparing Buletin Utama with all the local television news only. I won’t compare it to BBC, CNN or Al-Jazeera sebab level playing field diorang berbeza. But locally, Buletin Utama stands above the rest. Dari masa Christine Ling, Mahathir Lokman and Wan Zaleha Radzi sampai lah sekarang, which is Norazlina Othman and Kamarudin Mape, they’ve evolved from a 30 minute news to an hour stretch of local and international news.

11. Lonely Planet Six Degrees

I love this TV show sebab it shows places yang memang aku tak pernah tau existed in my life. This is not the posh and exclusive type of traveling but it’s just backpacking and traveling. It’s like watching the other side of the world yang jarang kita nak tengok.
You know what! One day, aku teringin nak buat benda yang sama. Back-packing and travel.

12. Whose Line Is It Anyway?

This is one of my favourite TV show. Hosted by Drew Carey and it’s all about impromptu stand-up comedy yang memang tidak dibuat-buat dan direka-reka langsung. My 2 favourite comedians would be Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie. Dalam ramai-ramai member diorang, yang aku rasa successful is Wayne Brady aje. Aku rasa dalam Dekat 8TV dulu ada pernah jugak tunjuk The Wayne Brady Show, I think 2 years back. La ni, aku dengar Actorlympic based kat The Actor’s Studio Bangsar ada buat Malaysian version of Whose Line Is It Anyway, most prolly will be screened kat NTV7 kot. So, I am waiting for it to be on air.

I also watch TV shows like House M.D., Monk, and VIP Weekends with Ian Wright, The Nanny, Seinfeld dan macam-macam lagi lah. The only thing is that some of the shows are seasonal. So, as at now, this is the 10 of my most watched TV shows. Take Monk for example, its no more aired in Astro. So, kalau nak dikira, list ni boleh berubah-ubah from time to time.

Cicak-Man (2006)

Pelakon : Saiful Apek, Yusry Abd Halim, Fasha Sandha, Aznil Hj Nawawi, AC Mizal, Adlin Aman Ramli, Yasmin Hani

Pengarah : Yusry Abd. Halim

Sinopsis : Hairi and Danny are best friends and both of them are working as scientist at Klon Technology owned by Professor Klon. (if they really are scientist, they bring a whole new meaning of 'em). Set in a metropolitan city named Metrofulus, yang bersalji (kelakar pun ada sebab I find the salji ridiculous!), Hairi and Danny, walaupun kedua-duanya saintis, but they are any other normal Samaritan yang lead a very normal life. Going to work with public transport, makan nasi bungkus.. that sort of stuff.

It's a basic routine for any normal people, I guess. Until one day, something changes Hairi's life forever. Hahahah… bunyik macam gempak aje padahal dia cuma terminum air dan terus tertelan cicak yang sepatutnya jadi bahan ujikaji dia. Dari situ, hidupnya berubah sebab dia mendapat superhero power macam seekor cicak. It became more interesting bila Hairi, Danny & Tania mendapat tahu tentang rancangan jahat Professor Klon (Like any other evil-doers in a superhero movies would do!). Professor Klon is actually the owner of Klon Technology who makes money by an evil scheme. He is the one responsible to dispurse out viruses and finding the cure himself.

Danny, kawan baik Hairi yang sanggup buat apa saja untuk kawan dia. Sampaikan he was mistook for being Cicakman himself oleh Tania, The Ginger Boys and Professor Klon himself. Danny yang cuba mencari the cure for Hairi and ended up in the clutches of Professor Klon and the Ginger Boys. Danny in the movie, I find him a little bit sissy. Kes yang sama dengan semua lakonan Yusry yang aku pernah tengok.

Hairi ni in person is an introvert person. Walaupun dia suka pada Tania, tapi disebabkan perangai malu-malu kucing kurap dia tu, dia pun melepaskan awek dia tu yg sudah dimisunderstood the whole situation.

Tania is the secretary for Professor Klon yang nak aku kata the girl next door, mungkin kot. But she is to blame for being too vulnerable. She overheard about Klon's evil plan to kidnapped the 5 minister of Metrofulus and take over the city.

See the misadventure and mishaps of Hairi and Danny when they are both in trouble.

About the Movie:

Saiful Apek (Hairi & Cicakman) – Bagi aku, Apek punya lakonan biasa aje. What you see in Apek in all of his movie, will be just the same. Tapi kali ni it's just a wee bit more. He has to do some serious act in the movie. Menjadi? Well, A for effort, I think. Mungkin kalau dia nak go on taking serious part, he has to work harder kot. Sebab aku tengok dia serious pun aku nak gelak. Heheheh…!!

Yusry (Dannny) – Yusry.. Yusry… Yusry, you my boy, can't really act. Lagi baik menyanyi aje lah. Anyhow, he has add something in his portfolio, pengarah filem. A very good effort for a first timer I guess. On the Danny's side, lakonan dia still tak strong enough. Well, not as bad as Cinta Kolestrol lah pun. But still weak. Lakonan yang agak lemah dengan body language, expression & penhayatan yang kosong.

Fasha (Tania) – As what I've said in my post about CINTA, Fasha is just Fasha. She can act but that's about it. There's no x-factor that will make me really be awed dengan lakonan dia (besides her good look la, beb!). Mungkin Fasha still belum dapat watak betul-betul mencabar. I want more from Fasha. I know she is more than just beautiful look.

Aznil (Professor Klon) – If he was meant to carry the character like that, then aku boleh kasi dia 4 bintang dalam lakonan dia. But the fact is that, what you see in Professor Klon is Aznil himself. Wacky, crazy, chaotic & hectic Well, that is how I can describe Professor Klon. Aku tak pernah tengok Azlin serious. Kalau serious dalam AF pun, serious yang dibuat-buat. So, I don't think it's hard for him to act as Professor Klon but lakonannya biasa aje. Nothing that great. In fact, up to a point, it's pretty annoying. Annoying sebab watak tu sendiri requires me to be so.

Adlin Aman Ramli & AC Mizal (Ginger 1 & Ginger 2) : A very funny but humorously irritating act by both of them. Adlin is playing dumb and AC is just plain. Adlin yang berwatak Ginger 1 bisu tak berapa menarik perhatian aku. In fact, I find it rather awkward seeing Adlin Aman Ramli acting out as Ginger 1 without a voice. Mungkin watak macam ni lain dari benda yang selalu dia bawa, but it's pretting much annoying. AC as Ginger 2, macam mana nak cakap ek? I just can't make out the words. Okay but quite disappointing, I guess!

Yasmin Hani : Watak tempelan sahaja. Nothing much too say about her character but if she is polished and groomed well, she can be a good actress.

Alah, ni dah kira tipikal plot and storyline untuk mana-mana movie pasal superhero ni. This guy dapat superpower, and then saves this damsel in distress, berlawan dengan orang jahat yang plan to take over the world and someone died. Heck, isn't that what a superhero movie is all about? Superman ke, Spiderman ke, X-Men ke, Fantastic Four ke, the plot basically revolves around that.

As I've said, the movie has the normal ingredient that any superhero movies had. Cuma kalau nak dikira, yang buat filem ni really stand out of the crowd is because it uses CGI in most of the movie. Aku rasa ni julung-julung kali filem Malaysia dibuat macam ni and From Metrofulus, Klon's mansion, the buildings, the action sequence. Semuanya made out of the green screen behind it. I have to say, it's a pretty good job done by the KRU Brothers. Alah, biasa lah ada loopholes here and there and effect dia yang nampak sedikit kartun, but aku rasa untuk filem ni, aku tolak tepi tu semua. So, lets put aside the lack of things in this movie sebab aku tabik spring kat Yusry KRU yang berjaya bawak something different kepada penonton kita.

And remember in mind that this is the first movie in Malaysia yang menggunakan such technology at a rather big scale. Kalau dulu Aziz M Osman dah jadi perintis untuk penggunaan special effect dalam XXX Ray sahaja. Itu pun hanya dalam beberapa shot.
Banyak benda yang buat movie ni menarik.

1. Bandar Metrofulus yang one of a kind. Ia direka tanpa mengambil mana-mana bangunan sedia ada. Kalau tak silap aku, diorang cuma gunakan Putrajaya as the fundamental structure for Metrofulus tapi diorang totally turn it into a new city. Siap dengan salji pulak tu.

2. Rumah Professor Klon yang bloody damn big tu meningatkan aku pada Count Dracula's mansion dengan pokok-pokok kering and the weather which 24/7 seems very dark and cloudy all day long.

3. The opening and early credit of the movie ni ada element yang sama macam cerita Fantastic Four and Sin City. Infact, some of the scene dalam movie ni pun ada sikit lebih kurang macam tu.

4. Ginger 1 & Ginger 2. Okay, walaupun ia adalah lakonan yang agak bodoh dari AC Mizal & Adlin Aman Ramli yang memang tak reti bermain dengan ruang, tak move dan takde ekspressi muka, isn't it similar to the Twins dalam The Matrix? Suratan atau kebetulan?

5. Walaupun ia adalah percubaan pertama the KRU Brothers, tapi I have to tap their back for doing a good job with the CGI effect. Siapa sangka anak Melayu boleh berfantasi macam tu kan?

Ada lah lagi tapi korang tengok sendiri and judge for yourself lah.

Aku Kata :

Masa mula-mula tu, aku memang ada sikit reluctant nak tengok movie ni sebab because of Apek and Yusry.. Not to misjudge Apek, tapi aku takut akan tengok dejavu dalam lawak-lawak Apek yang hampir stereotaip dalam semua movie lakonannya. Yusry pulak, as I have mentioned earlier, acting isn't just his thing. Lagi baik dia duduk belakang tabir aje lah. Doing the stuff that he normally do.

So the 2 main reason that pushes me to watch the movie would be the CGI effect and Fasha Sandha only. Lantak lah dengan lakonan stereotype Fasha Sandha tu. (Hope she'll improve in the future) but I just love to see the beautiful face. And the CGI effect was brilliant for a new-comer.

Puas hati? Up to a certain level, YES. Sebab aku bangga filem Malaysia dah capai a new era. Aku tolak tepi sikit lakonan yang biasa, plot yang longgar dan takde sinematografi menarik sebab aku seronok tengok effect CGI dia. Not that I've seen better but it's the effort of a Malaysian tu yang perlu kita banggakan.

But hey, itu aku!!! Itu persepsi aku pasal movie ni. I am not saying I am right nor I am wrong. That's my opinion that I am entitled to give. Korang pulak macam mana?

So, In conclusion aku kasi : ***1/2 / *****
